ROAD workers will get on their bikes to mark a charity’s 25th anniversary celebrations.

Amey, which provides highways maintenance services on behalf of Hampshire County Council, has launched its 2015 fundraising event – a bike ride to support The Rainbow Centre in Fareham.

Forty riders will travel 25 miles from Amey’s highways depot in Petersfield, ending at The Rainbow Centre’s home in Fareham.

The Ride for Rainbows bike challenge takes place on July 5 to raise money for the centre which helps children and adults with cerebral palsy.

David Ogden, from Amey, said it was the second year the company had organised a fundraiser, last year raising £5,000 for Naomi House and Jacksplace Hospices.

He said: ‘We hope to raise even more money this time for a charity that is close to many of our employees’ hearts.’
