THE Explosion! in Gosport has announced series of specially-guided walks around a unique site in the town.
The Ramparts is an area not usually accessible to the public. It is part of the early fortifications put up around the town as an extension to the defences of Portsmouth Harbour.
The walks look at the early history and how the area later became an important part of the Priddy’s Hard Ordnance supply depot.
The museum will host the tours on the first Saturday of every month, starting at 1pm on Saturday, (April 7) at the museum. They run until October. They will be led by local historian Terry Hinkley.
The walks are not suitable for under-12s, other children must be accompanied by an adult.
Tickets are £2 per person and must be booked in advance. Call 023 9250 5600 or visit explosion.org.uk.
