A RARE Amur leopard cub has been born in Hampshire.
Born to mum, Kaia, and dad, Akin, the as yet unnamed cub is four weeks old and is just starting to find his feet at Marwell Zoo.
Marwell Wildlife’s director of conservation, Tim Woodfine, said: ‘We are all looking forward to watching this youngster grow, develop and explore its new home.
‘This birth is a great outcome for the hard work which takes place at Marwell.’
The cub’s sex will be announced following health checks and it will go on public view in the main leopard enclosure at the end of August. It is estimated that there are as few as 35 Amur leopards left in the wild.
