A CHARITY shop is due to re-open in Leigh Park today after a makeover to mark its 25th birthday.

The refurbished Age UK store will feature a new lay-out, more merchandise, as well as an information hub to help people access information, services and products.

The shop, in Park Parade, stocks a wide range of donated and new items, from clothing and accessories to cookware and books, and relies on local people donating their unwanted goods.

Pat Doswell, who has been volunteering at the Leigh Park shop for 16 years, said: ‘It’s very exciting that our newly refurbished bright and vibrant shop will be open to the general public. People have been waiting for us to return to the high street.’
