DAREDEVILS still have time to register for an abseil to help fund The Rowans Hospice.

This year organisers are hoping for a big uptake from younger people as there has been a change of location.

This year it is being held at the University of Portsmouth’s 11-storey Mercantile House. Each year the abseil raises vital funds for hospice services, and one regular who will be taking part this year is ‘daredevil’ Doris Long.

The 99-year-old, from Hayling Island, hopes to break her own world record as the oldest woman abseiler, and come down the building for the 13th time.

The abseil takes place on Saturday, May 18, and is open to all ages – full training is given on the day.

Registration costs £15, call (023) 9223 8531, or go to
