Registration is now open for the Gosport Summer Passport scheme, which provides activities for young people over the summer.

The scheme is a well-established initiative organised by Gosport Community Safety Partnership, which began in 2008.

It is open to secondary school pupils who either go to school or live in Gosport or Fareham.

The scheme takes place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between July 28 and August 13, with activities running from midday until 4pm at locations around the borough.

Activities include sailing, kayaking, ice-skating, food tasting and quad biking.

And there are some new activities this year, including
total wipeout, base jump, rock ‘n’ roller and Gosport glow, a dance-based fitness activity with glowsticks.

They will showcase the talents of young people from the Motiv8 music project performing their own songs at a barbecue in August.

Participants must be born between September 1, 1998 and August 31, 2003.

Online registration is free and will be available for the first time this year until Monday, July 27.

Parents/guardians and those with parental consent will be able to complete the pre-registration form at gosport.gov.uk/sections/your-council/council-services/community-safety/gosport-summer-passport-2015/

Confirmation of the registration will be e-mailed to the account details provided.

The Summer Passport ID card will be available for collection from the Town Hall between July 13 and July 27, 9am-5pm.

Or contact the Community Safety Team at communitysafety@gosport.gov.uk to make alternative arrangements.
