A SHELTERED housing scheme in Gosport has been refurbished, just in time for Christmas.

Woodlands House, in Chestnut Walk, Elson, re-opened the communal lounge after months of work, at a ceremony attended by Councillor Richard Dickson, the Mayor of Gosport.

Cllr Dickson also presented a plaque to the longest-serving resident, Doris McGill, 87, marking the refurbishment in her 15th year at the home.

The home opened in 1981 and has 28 residents.
