STAFF are raising a cup to celebrate the reopening of a cafe.

The Salvation Army’s Haven Cafe, in Lake Road, Portsmouth, was closed so a revamp of the seating area and serving hatch could be done.

The ribbon was cut by Councillor Steven Wylie, who represents the Charles Dickens ward.

Community programme director David Scarborough said: ‘The refurbishment marks a new chapter in the life of our community cafe.

‘We are thrilled to be able to provide such a facility to the community.’
