HUNDREDS of revellers celebrated 20 years of Haslar Marina at a party.

More than 300 berth-holders and staff at the marina gathered on its lawn in Haslar Road, Gosport, to enjoy a live soul band and barbecue.

The event, which had a free bar, raised £2,280 for three charities.

The Gosport & Fareham Inshore Rescue Service, Gosport’s Sea Cadets and Ickle Pickles, which supports neo-natal units, have each received £760 donations.

Haslar Marina manager Ben Lippiett is championing Ickle Pickles as his daughter Millie was born premature in July last year.

The cash was raised from an entry fee for the party, with all of it going to the three charities.

Richard Reddyhoff, of Haslar Marina, cut a 20th anniversary cake with a berth holder from 20 years ago.

The party on Saturday, May 18 celebrated a successful 20 years of the 650-berth marina.
