Last time Chris Ramsey was in the area, he performed at the tiny Ashcroft centre. Occupying the Guildhall shows how far the cheeky chap has come in the last few years, thanks to plenty of television exposure.

Last time Chris Ramsey was in the area, he performed at the tiny Ashcroft centre. Occupying the Guildhall shows how far the cheeky chap has come in the last few years, thanks to plenty of television exposure.

He kicked off the show with some impressive audience interaction. Picking out individuals to talk to in the front row, the Geordie funnyman was quick-witted despite selecting audience members who gave him very little to work with.

Quips about his marriage and the decline of domestic bliss were hugely entertaining. Having recently become a father, he had many anecdotes that revolved around his son, including that of an unfortunate toilet incident.

However the highlight was talking about his fears. It would seem Chris Ramsey is quite frankly a wuss and he had no problem telling us about it. From the Blair Witch-like baby monitor to horror film trailers, sleepwalking to hotel rooms, he confessed his trepidations with hilarious effects.

Would I go and see him again? Wye-aye.

Support was provided by Carl Hutchinson. Whilst he showed potential, the highlight of his set was him shutting up three annoying drunken women in the front row, much to the delight of the crowd.
