ENGINEERS worked overnight to fix a gas leak and re-open a road.

As reported in The News, Broom Way, in Lee-on-the-Solent, was closed in both directions after a gas mains leak.

Southern Gas Network’s engineers completed the work in the early hours of Friday morning and the road was re-opened at 5.30am.

It had been shut in both directions between Peel Common Roundabout and Cherque Lane on Wednesday.
