THESE patriotic volunteers hope to bring Jubilee cheer to a quiet Fareham cul-de-sac this June.
Jan Phillips, Steve Davies, Dee Dixon and Rod Phillips are part of a six-strong committee tasked with organising a street part in Albert Road to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee on June 3.
The group has been meeting once a fortnight with the aim of transforming the road into a lavish red, white and blue celebration, featuring music, entertainment and party games.
People living in the road are invited to share their party ideas and youngsters have also taken a role in the party planning. The event will have food, games and music from 2pm.
The group came up with the idea of holding a street party on New Year’s Eve and the rest of the residents said they were very much in favour of the plan.
Committee member Ms Dixon said: ‘What a great way to get to know the neighbours and bring our community together.
‘We are all excited about dressing the street up with bunting and tables.’
‘We have sought all the relevant permission and found Fareham Borough Council very proficient at keeping us in the loop with their timelines for the jubilee and accepted our closure.’
