AN ELDERLY lady was rescued from her car following an accident.

Three fire engines from Cosham were called to Northern Parade, in Stamshaw, after two vehicles hit each other.

The fire service removed the roof of one of the cars to free the driver, who became trapped. She was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham with minor injuries.

The incident happened at 7.30pm yesterday and the emergency services were there until 8.30pm.

A blue Mazda and a red BMW were involved.
