ROWANS Hospice is set to benefit financially from a television Christmas fundraising campaign.

The annual ITV appeal called Text Santa raised £4.9 million this year.

The money will be split between six UK charities including £820,000 going to Help the Hospices.

Half will be awarded to its member hospices.

Ruth White, the hospice’s chief executive, said: ‘The resulting donations from the public demonstrate the strength of their support.’
