WITH a big wheel, tug o’ war, and Irish dancers there is plenty going on at today’s Rowlands Castle Village Fair.

The event, on The Green, has an Olympic theme.

The committee have made sure there’s lots going on but have retained the traditional spirit of the fair which has been running since the 1970s.

John Higham is one of the organisers. He said: ‘We’ve done all the work ready for the fair and it’s time for everyone to come on down and enjoy themselves.

‘The children will love the fairground rides.

‘The dog show is back again which is always popular.

‘The fair has been going for the best part of 40 years now and we’ve been trying to keep it as close as we can to how it would have been in the early days.

‘It’s a traditional fair but in the evening we will be moving all the stalls out of the marquee and transforming it for when tribute band Take All That hit the stage.’

The fair starts at 11am and ends at 5pm.

The evening entertainment begins at 7.30pm. Tickets for the evening cost £12.50.
