FOUR people are gearing up to run the London marathon to raise money for a Fareham-based charity.
Peter Grimwood, Philip Blakebrough, Ali Davies and Dom Lewis are all in training to compete the race in aid of the Rainbow Centre. Three of the runners went to the centre on Thursday to meet some of the people the money will help.
Mr Grimwoood, who is the chief executive of Fareham Borough Council, said: ‘The training is really starting to feel like hard work. Visiting the Rainbow Centre really made it all worthwhile. It was just the push I needed to keep going and it will spur me on on the big day.’
The Rainbow Centre supports children with cerebral palsy and adults with a stroke, MS, Parkinson’s, cerebral palsy and head injuries.
Lara Bull, from the centre, said: ‘It is wonderful that people are doing this for us.’
