A CHAMPION sailor who claims he was discriminated against while boarding a train has removed an angry blog post outlining his thoughts on the ordeal.
Quadriplegic Geoff Holt, pictured, who holds a number of sailing records, had said he faced resistance from a guard on an Isle of Wight train to let him board in his electric wheelchair, as reported yesterday.
Mr Holt, from Shedfield, near Fareham, had written of his ‘genuine rage’ on his blog, adding: ‘He made me feel like a piece of dirt.’
South West Trains has suspended the guard concerned, started an internal investigation and offered an apology.
Mr Holt has taken down the original post and replaced it with one saying that he is not ‘intent on revenge’ and is satisfied with the suspension and investigation of the guard, writing: ‘All I want is for lessons to be learned so others do not experience what I went through.’
Mr Holt has reported the incident to British Transport Police and is deciding whether to press charges.
