A SAILOR was rescued from mud in Portsmouth Harbour.

Gosport and Fareham Inshore Rescue was called out at 1.15pm after the man’s 8ft tender ran aground in Bomb Ketch Creek at the northern end of the harbour.

The Coastguard alerted the Gafirs crew. A crewman made his way across the mud, attached a towline, and the temder and the man, who was not hurt, were pulled to deeper water. He was taken to the jetty at Hardway Sailing Club in Gosport.
