SAILORS and soliders in Portsmouth will unite today to tackle a 24-hour ‘pool-athon’ in aid of a naval charity.

The fundraisers begin their day-long game of pool at 6pm tonight, inside The Royal pub, in Commerical Road.

The event, run by veterans and current serving personnel, will be in aid of the Royal Naval Benevolent Trust.

Portsmouth’s Lord Mayor, Cllr David Fuller, is set to begin the action. People can visit the pub, donate and play a game of pool.
