YOUNGSTERS in Fareham were given a treat this week when Santa popped into the library for a special story time.

He read them festive stories, and then the youngsters sang Christmas carols, made Christmas cards for their families and created Christmas hats to wear on the day itself.

Julie Addicott, mum of Joe, three, said: ‘Every Monday the Fareham library has a story time at 10am, and Joe and the other children go quite regularly.

‘This week’s was a special story time and the children had lots of fun.’

Mrs Addicott said being able to take Joe to the library for story time is vital for his learning.

She added: ‘Joe really enjoys going most Mondays, listening to the stories and then being able to pick a book out for himself to read at home during the week.

‘I think having story time is really important.’
