SPORTING excellence was rewarded at a school’s annual presentation evening.

Bourne Community College, in Park Road, Emsworth, welcomed friends and family to celebrate the achievements of its students.

Awards included team of the year, outstanding contribution to sport, most improved team, male and female sports personality of the year and dedication to sporting excellence.

Nicola Whitehood, 15, was presented with the female sports personality by guest of honour Pompey Ladies’ Leeta Rutherford and Ini Omotong, for her contribution to sport at the college, as well as performing for teams in the year above and leading them to success.

Leader of physical education at Bourne Louise Harris said: ‘Nicola gets involved in any sports but excels at netball and basketball.

‘We want the students who won awards to excel and continue on their sporting careers after they have left Bourne.

‘The awards are designed to reward all those students that show dedication in extra curricular activities and Nicola is a glowing example of that.’
