A WATER company has pitched in by providing a Scout group with tents.

Members of the 1st Southbourne Sea Scouts, in Emsworth, applied to Southern Water’s Community Chest grants programme for funding for new camping equipment.

The Scout troop, which has 120 members aged between six and 18, organises regular camping trips, alongside its weekly watersports activities in and around Chichester Harbour.

Scout leader Dave Wingham said: ‘Some of our old tents are very worn and under constant repair.

‘So we are very grateful to Southern Water for its support.’
