SCOUTS in Portsmouth will hold a transport rally in support of The Rowans Hospice and to promote Scouting.
Between 10am and 4pm at Lakeside North Harbour, members of the public will be able to view vintage vehicles and take part in bus rides.
There will also be stalls held by other community groups and parking will be available for a donation.
The event is being held as part of Scouting’s Community Week – a UK wide initiative to help Scouts ‘do one thing’ to have an impact on their local communities.
Event organiser Richard Spearing said: ‘We’re using the transport rally as a recruitment opportunity for adult volunteers, as there is a huge waiting list for young people to join Scouting.
‘We’ve got a large mobile display unit and climbing wall to try and attract passers-by.’
The Scout Association’s mobile display unit will be delivered to the Transport Rally between 7am and 9am, and then collected again between 5pm and 7pm. Visit portsmouthscouts.co.uk for more information.
