AUTHORITIES are continuing to search for a backpacker who leapt into a river from a bridge.

Dale Rehr, 30, from Horndean, has been missing since January 17 following the incident in Brisbane.

A Foreign Office spokeswoman said: ‘We can confirm that local authorities in Brisbane, Australia, are searching for a British national reported missing on January 17. Consular staff are in contact with the family in the UK and are offering support at this difficult time.’ Brisbane police said last month that the search was now in the ‘recovery phase’.
