PEOPLE are being urged to share their ideas on how Gosport can welcome the Olympic torch.

Thousands of people are expected to line a route through the town when the torch passes through it on July 15.

Now the Gosport Community Events Committee is trying to get schools, businesses and other organisations involved in welcoming the torch.

A meeting will be held on Friday, February 3 at 2pm in the ballroom at Thorngate Halls for a presentation outlining the arrangements for the day. People will then be able to suggest things the town could do on the day the torch arrives.

Anyone who would like to attend should contact Lesley Ward on 07760 387336 or the Rowner Nimrod Centre on (023) 9250 3433.
