It took out a wall and window as well as damaging furniture inside in the dramatic incident yesterday.

The family who live in house were told they could not stay overnight as the building had become structurally unsafe.

Last night they were too upset to talk to The News.

A neighbour, who did not want to be named, said: ‘I just heard a very loud bang.

‘I was getting the tea ready when I heard it.

‘I thought to myself that it sounded like a car accident.

‘But when I went outside the traffic was moving freely and I couldn’t see any sign of an accident.

‘However when I crossed the road I saw this van had gone into a house. I was shocked to see it.
