STRONG winds have damaged properties across Fareham.

The frontage of Ken’s Kebab House and Speedy Pizza, in West Street, came off overnight.

And a glass panel was smashed at Fareham Borough Council’s civic offices.

It means the car park is unusable today and it has been closed off. Council staff are worried glass may fall into the car park below.

A council spokeswoman said: ‘Unfortunately it is too risky to allow the car park to be used, in case some of the glass falls out of the panel, and in high winds, it could blow into the car park and hurt someone who may be in it.

‘Our intention is to get the pane boarded up to make it safe later today.’

Other Civic Way car parks can still be reached on foot.
