ORGANISERS of Shoreham Airshow have announced this year’s event will take place on September 1 and 2.

The theme of this year’s RAF associations’ Battle of Britain show will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the RAF Central Flying School.

Derek Harber, acting airshow organiser, said: ‘The theme will be a deserving tribute to the RAF Central Flying School which has been responsible for flight training for the RAF and we hope to get maximum support both in the air and on the ground from the RAF.’

The dates of the West Sussex airshow, which usually takes place in August, have been moved back this year due to the Olympics and the limitations of airspace over the southern part of the UK, the organisers said.

The flying programme for the show will be announced in the coming months.
