IT WAS a tough choice for Maddison Thompson to cut her hair short.

But the 14-year-old put on a brave face and underwent the chop for charity.

Rocking a hairstyle inspired by The Saturdays’ band member, Frankie Sanford, Maddison will be donating her hair to the Little Princess Trust - a charity that makes wigs for children with cancer or alopecia.

Maddison got her hair cut at Steve Ellis Hair, on West Street, in Fareham, and admitted she was nervous in the build-up.

She said: ‘I was nervous but I was excited as well. I heard about the charity after a friend of mine raised money for them and I thought I wanted to do that too.

‘I wasn’t going to go as short but I loved Frankie’s hair so decided to get it done like that.’
