THE cast of a play based on an accident which left a Fareham man with only one leg is looking for a venue in Portsmouth.

The show, One Step, was inspired by Sean Gittins who had his right leg amputated following a motorcycle crash in Wickham at the age of 18.

Now 44, he is re-enacting the trauma he faced by starring as the lead character in the play, as reported on Saturday.

One Step is being shown from April 26 to 30, excluding 29, at the Lighthouse Theatre in Poole. But Sean and the cast want a venue in Portsmouth to put on the show as well.

The performance explores the knock-on effect that losing a leg had on Sean’s life and the production team hopes to hold a question and answer session with the audience after.

As well as acting, Sean works with Amputees in Action, which works alongside military and medical training during sessions about how to deal with catastrophic bleeds and incidents which have resulted in the loss of a limb

Any venue interested should call reporter Sheanne Mulholland on (023) 9262 2170.
