AN event has hit the right note with keen singers in the Catherington area.

The Cascade South Downs Ladies Harmony Chorus held a sing-along event at All Saints Church hall in order to show off their pitch-perfect skills and to attract new members.

The group’s Jacquie Limburn said it had been a great success.

Speaking to The News after the group’s weekly meeting last night, she said: ‘It went very well.

‘We had a couple of ladies from the sing-along turn up this evening, and bring another lady with them.’

The sing-along event was also a social occasion, as well as a chance to swell the group’s ranks by demonstrating the breadth of music the group covers in a barber-shop style.

‘We’re a four-part harmony and we sing all sorts – from I Will Survive, carols at Christmas, songs from the shows and Billy Joel and Adele.’
