A SIGNED love song performance has raised more than £200 for charity.
Specialist sign language group Signalong and children from Wallisdean Junior School signed their way through some of the great love songs at Fareham Shopping Centre on Valentine’s Day.
The groups were raising money for Wessex Heart, the Mayor of Fareham’s charity of the year.
Mayoress Carole Steadman and deputy mayoress Susan Bayford collected £238.32 from passers-by during the performances.
Mrs Steadman said: ‘We would like to thank the Signalong ladies and the Wallisdean Junior School children for their wonderful entertainment. Without these lovely volunteers this would not have been possible.’
Wallisdean Junior School has taught sign language for many years and has been teaching sign singing for the last two years. Pupils at the school learn basic sign language at a lunch-time club.
