PEOPLE will sing their hearts out in memory of a popular young dad at a charity karaoke night.

The family of Liam McKay has organised the event at The Brewers Arms, in Milton Road, Milton.

Proceeds will go to SADS UK, a charity fighting for more research into sudden arrhythmic death syndrome.

As previously reported, Liam, of Puffin Walk, Wecock, died from the rare condition where the heart suddenly stops.

The 25-year-old was at his workplace, the Southern Electric call centre in Havant, when he collapsed.

His sister Kelly Appleton, 25, wants to raise more money to help pay for research and last month completed a charity walk along Southsea seafront, raising £900.

Mrs Appleton, of Gritanwood Road, Eastney, said: ‘We’re hoping to have a karaoke competition as well as a silly dance one and a prize for the best fancy dress costume.

‘After the huge success of the walk I’m hoping this event will raise quite a few pennies.’

The event takes place from 7pm on Saturday, July 7.
