A man whole stole a pair of trainers has been told to do unpaid work.

Martin Brown, 40, of Waverley Road, Southsea, will have to do 40 hours of community service after pleading guilty to theft at Portsmouth Magistrates' Court.

He took the 32 trainers from the Donnay International Shop at Portsmouth's Gunwharf Quays.

He also has to pay 45 in costs.
