A MAN from Southsea has died after collapsing on a beach.
The 31-year-old was found by a member of the public at 2am on Towan Beach in Newquay, Cornwall.
Attempts were made to resuscitate the man but they were not successful.
His family have been told but Devon and Cornwall police say he will not be identified until next week.
Police say the man was visiting the area and staying in a local hotel with a group of friends.
His death is not being treated as suspicious.
A file will be prepared for the coroner.
Officers want to hear from anyone who saw the man late on Friday night or early Saturday morning near the beach.
