PORTSMOUTH City Council have backed this years Southsea night market stalls.
The vacant arches between the square in old Portsmouth and the Round Tower will be converted into studio spaces for artist and craft markers to display their work.
The art spaces will be set up from 4pm every Friday throughout July.
Each week a different array of paintings, crafts and homemade goods will be available for people to admire or even purchase.
This year the night markets will follow the theme of Mediterranean nights.
This unique opportunity gives sellers the chance to come together as a united and passionate community, which supports one another’s entrepreneurial efforts.
Co-organiser of the event Roberta Fidora said: ‘In a time when many question the future of the arts and creative activities, we are thrilled the council has taken the decision to proudly support local artist and designers.
‘It is a great opportunity to show that we, as a city, value the creative community.’
