ARTISTIC, musical and cultural activities will be taking place in Southsea to celebrate diversity.

The free annual Multicultural Festival takes place on Sunday, September 4, from 10am to 6pm.

Visitors can look forward to ethnic craft stalls, information stalls and world food to tantalise the tastebuds.

Music will range from a Congolese band playing uplifting dance music; White Hot Pipes, a celtic band featuring bagpipes; African drumming, Thai dance, Indian dance, flamenco and street dance.

The festival takes place in Castle Field, Southsea.

A puppet show will also entertain families.

The event is run by The Portsmouth Multicultural Group – a charitable organisation, run by volunteers, aiming to promote awareness and celebrate the diverse cultures in Portsmouth.
