THE screening of a classic film proved popular at Southsea’s Kings Theatre.

The theatre, in Albert Road, held a charity viewing of the film It’s a Wonderful Life.

The theatre was packed out and £1,080.59 was raised on the night.

Funds have now been donated to The Rosemary Foundation’s hospice at home scheme.

It will go towards providing nursing care and support for terminally-ill patients, who wish to remain at home during the last few days.

Delighted Julie Cotsell, manager of the Petersfield hospice, said: ‘We are so grateful to the Kings Theatre for such generosity ’
