TICKETS for a world music and arts festival that straddles two counties are now on sale.
WemsFest takes in venues across Emsworth and Westbourne and now includes Hambrook and Chidham in West Sussex.
There is an international flavour spearheaded by Ivory Coast singer Dobet Gnahore and her band.
And there will be an opportunity to discover more about Turkey provided by Sufi musician Latif Bolat who will reveal images of parts of Turkey which are rarely seen while he plays the guitar-like instrument the saz.
Finalist in BBC 1’s The Voice, Sally Barker, will be appearing. Former BBC DJ Andy Kershaw, bluesman Michael Messer, BBC R4 poet Elvis McGonagall and troubadour Estas Tonne are also on the bill.
Mark Ringwood is founder of the festival, which runs from September 27 to October 19.
He said: ‘Once again Emsworth punches above its weight and this can only be good for residents, businesses and visitors.’
Mr Ringwood said early-bird tickets were going on sale for £5
He added: ‘‘In theory this could result in a substantial financial risk but in practice we are hoping that it will generate a groundswell of support which will encourage others to buy tickets when they return to their full price on September 1.’
