ENTRIES for this year’s Spice Island Art Trail are now open.

It provides artists with a unique opportunity to showcase their work in Old Portsmouth’s historic venues.

The event is part of Portsmouth Festivities – a 10-day festival celebrating arts, culture and heritage.

This year, the festivities will run from Friday, June 20 to Sunday, June 29 and will feature a wide programme of music, theatre, talks, film and art.

The first Spice Island Art Trail took place during Portsmouth Festivities last year, in association with Art Space Portsmouth, Strong Island, Portsmouth Guildhall, and Aspex.

Organisers say they were amazed by the quality and variety of work on display.

Artists living in Portsmouth who would like to take part in the Spice Island Art Trail 2014 can call (023) 9268 1390 or visit portsmouthfestivities.co.uk for more information.
