DOZENS of swimmers aged from 10 to 61 put in the lengths as they helped raise money for charity.
Fifty people took part in the Marie Curie Cancer Care Swimathon at Fareham Leisure Centre, with the centre entering its own team dubbed the Fareham Dippers who completed the 5km team challenge.
Participants were given the choice of completing an individual 1km, 2.5km and 5km challenges, or the team 1.5km and 5km challenges.
Other teams included the Flammable Duckasaurs, made up of youngsters on the Everyone Active swimming lesson scheme, as well as a family who took part as Team Boucher.
Twenty-six centre staff members also took part with each person completing 60 lengths, giving the total equivalent of swimming the English Channel. They raised £148.
