A MANAGER swapped his uniform for his running shoes this morning in a bid to raise cash for Sport Relief.

Supermarket colleagues from Sainsbury’s Broadcut, in Fareham, kickstarted their Sport Relief activities by waving off deputy manager Steve Bennett as he set off on a half marathon attempt.

Mr Bennett, from Lovedean, is hoping to reach Farlington Sainsbury’s and back again to raise cash through sponsorship.

There is an exercise bike at the front of the store, with colleagues from the fresh department aiming to cover 26 miles, as well as a rowing machine with colleges from their internet department aiming to row the distance of the Thames.

Other colleagues took part in a zumba class run by LA Fitness zumba instructor Carla Williams.

Shoppers also got into the spirits when the whole store was taken over by a dancing flashmob at 11am.

Sport Relief activities will continue all weekend, with a stand selling merchandise and collecting money at the front of the Fareham store.
