FIREFIGHTERS were called to a sports car on fire on the motorway.

A Shelby Cobra’s exhaust pipe had caught on fire on eastbound carriageway of the M27 between Fareham and Cosham junctions.

An appliance from Cosham and one from Portchester fire station were sent at around 6pm.

But the male driver of the car had used a dry powder fire extinguisher to put the blaze out before they arrived. The car was not damaged.
