Staff from across HMS Collingwood supported charities with their festive-themed cake-decorating competition.

Entries included glitter-adorned icing, nativity and snow scenes, with each entrant donating their cake to a charity close to their heart to use as they wish.

A selection of prizes were on display, including vouchers, cookery books and a hamper all donated by organisations affiliated with the naval base such as Costcutter, Costa and ESS.

There were six judges, including Captain Andy Jordan Commanding Officer of HMS Collingwood, scoring each cake design on a range of aspects.

Catering complex manager for junior rates Jay Averill, said: ‘It gives the staff here an opportunity to have some fun whilst supporting their chosen charity.

‘This is the third year
we’ve ran the competition
and we have had a great response from the Collingwood team.’
