Stargazing event tonight

Here is your weather for today.

Today’s weather: cloudy but dry

IF YOU want to spend an unconventional Friday night looking into the sky and learning about stars then head to Gunwharf Quays this evening.

Astronomers from the University of Portsmouth's Institute of Cosmology and Gravitation are organising a stargazing event for families and children as well as other interested parties, starting at 5.30pm outside Bar 38.

Charles Shapiro, senior research associate at the institute, said: 'We want Portmuthians to realise experiencing the universe is still possible from the city.

'We are hoping to give people their first look through a telescope and get them talking about science and the universe.'
