FIGURES show more people are sleeping rough on the streets.
The data, provided by Homeless Link, a national charity, shows there were five people sleeping rough in Portsmouth in 2010. This was up to 15 last year, while in Havant the figure went up from five people in 2010 to 10 in 2015.
In Fareham and Gosport the number of rough sleepers stayed the same between 2010 and 2015, with six in Fareham and four in Gosport.
Nationally there was in increase of 30 per cent in rough sleeping from 2014 to 2015 – with an increase of 102 per cent since 2010.
According to the latest figures, collected in the autumn of 2015 and published in February, 3,569 people are estimated to be sleeping rough on any one night in England.
It is a large increase from the number of people sleeping rough in England in 2010, which was 1,768.
