PICTURE slideshow shows the stranded car cargo ship that was deliberately grounded in the Solent to prevent it from capsizing.

Salvage workers have now boarded the 51,000-tonne Hoegh Osaka which remains stranded on the Bramble Bank sandbank next to a busy shipping lane.

The 180-metre vessel was sailing from Southampton with its cargo of 1,400 luxury and standard cars as well as 80 pieces of construction equipment when it ran into trouble.
