A STREET party will launch a drive to raise £10,000 for two good causes.

The Southern Co-operative is hosting the street party in Bishop’s Waltham on Sunday, June 23, to raise money for Bishop’s Waltham in Bloom and Swanmore Pre-School.

There will be a barbecue, cakes, bouncy castle, disco and raffle in St George’s Square between 11am until 2pm.

The Southern Co-operative’s community champion Danielle Theron said: ‘To help us reach our £10,000 target, customers simply need to ask for a free Community Support Card in either of our stores here, and have this swiped each time they shop. The more the card is swiped, the quicker The Southern Co-operative donates the funds.’

Bishop’s Waltham in Bloom wants to use the money to plant bulbs around the town to flower in the spring and early summer, extending the flowering season.

Swanmore Pre-School would like to develop an outdoor space for children to enjoy books and explore nature.
