RESIDENTS have been urged to take extra care this week as the Fire Brigades Union launches a new round of strikes over pensions.

Firefighters are striking from midday to 2pm and from 10.59pm to 11.59pm every day until Saturday and are taking ‘industrial action short of a strike’ at other times.

A Hampshire Fire and Rescue spokesman said services would be limited.

He said: ‘Our response will focus on the highest risks to life.’
