STUDENTS will soon learn about new job opportunities at a careers fair in Portsmouth.

More than 240 pupils from secondary schools across the region will descend upon Portsmouth Marriott Hotel to find out about work available in the hospitality industry.

The event, which will take place on January 19, is being run by the Greater Portsmouth Hoteliers Association.

Representatives from Lysses House Hotel in Fareham, The Langstone Hotel on Hayling Island and The Solent Hotel & Spa, in Whiteley, will also give tips on how to run a hotel.

The Marriott, Hilton, De Vere and Holiday Inn will be there. Speeches will be given by students and staff from South Downs College, in Waterlooville.

Jess Memery, business development manager for organisers Education Business Partnership, said: ‘This will be the fifth year we have held the fair and it keeps on growing.’
